The XL Ytong Nest – Type A is a very large formicarium designed for mature and high-population ant colonies. As the largest nest in the Esthetic Ants Ytong range, it offers extensive nesting space while maintaining stable and controllable humidity.

This nest features straight-shaped chambers carved into a large Ytong block, providing a long and structured layout that supports advanced brood organization and colony expansion. The porous Ytong material naturally regulates moisture, creating a stable and humid microclimate suitable for demanding species.

Moisture can be added through the standard side-mounted hydration chimney, as well as an additional hydration port on the top of the nest, offering extra flexibility and control when hydrating larger colonies. This dual hydration option makes it easier to maintain consistent humidity across the entire nest.

An escape-proof mesh is embedded into the frame, while a clear acrylic cover secured with screws provides visibility and protection. A red shield is included to reduce light exposure and support natural ant behavior.

This nest is designed to be used only in a vertical position.

Capacity guidelines
Suitable for very large and fully developed ant colonies that have outgrown large Ytong nests.
