The XL Ytong Nest – Type B is a very large formicarium designed for mature and high-population ant colonies. It provides excellent moisture regulation and a natural nesting environment suitable for demanding and fast-growing species.

This nest features a cubed chamber design, creating extensive and structured nesting spaces that allow large colonies to cluster brood and organize efficiently. The porous Ytong material naturally regulates moisture, creating a stable and humid microclimate ideal for long-term colony development.

Moisture is added through the standard side-mounted hydration chimney. This version does not include an additional top hydration port. An escape-proof mesh is embedded into the frame, while a clear acrylic cover secured with screws provides visibility and protection. A red shield is included to reduce light exposure and support natural ant behavior.

This nest is designed to be used only in a horizontal, flat position.

Capacity guidelines
Suitable for very large and fully developed ant colonies that have outgrown large Ytong nests.
