The Large Ytong Nest – Type A is a high-capacity formicarium designed for large and well-established ant colonies. It offers the same natural moisture regulation as the smaller Ytong nests, with significantly increased space to support advanced colony growth.

This nest features thirteen straight-shaped chambers carved into a Ytong block, creating a long, structured layout that allows efficient brood organization and colony expansion. The porous Ytong material naturally regulates moisture, providing a stable and humid microclimate suitable for a wide range of ant species.

Moisture is added through the side-mounted hydration chimney, allowing controlled hydration without disturbing the colony. An escape-proof mesh is embedded into the frame, while a clear acrylic cover secured with screws provides visibility and protection. A red shield is included to reduce light exposure and support natural ant behavior.

This nest is designed to be used only in a vertical position.

Suitable for large colonies that have outgrown medium Ytong nests.
