The Large Ytong Nest – Type B is a high-capacity formicarium designed for large and well-established ant colonies. It provides excellent moisture regulation and a natural nesting environment suitable for a wide range of species.

This nest features a cubed chamber design, creating structured nesting spaces that allow ants to cluster brood and organize efficiently. The porous Ytong material naturally regulates moisture, creating a stable and humid microclimate ideal for healthy colony development.

Moisture is added through the side-mounted hydration chimney, allowing controlled hydration without disturbing the colony. An escape-proof mesh is embedded into the frame, while a clear acrylic cover secured with screws provides visibility and protection. A red shield is included to reduce light exposure and support natural ant behavior.

This nest is designed to be used only in a horizontal, flat position.

Capacity guidelines
Suitable for large colonies that have outgrown medium Ytong nests.
